Fredricksburg, VA

Visited the National Marine Corps Museum in Triangle, VA yesterday, what an experience. You could spend all day there, but everyone should at least stop in for an hour.

Also went to the National Cemetery in Fredricksburg, it was for Union Soldiers during and after the Civil War, closed to new internments in 1945. A lot of Civil War history in the area. You could spend three days on just that alone.

Did some Geocaching while on this trip, found four more caches. If you want to find out more about this please visit my Geocaching page.

The Frog

Over the past two weeks I've come to enjoy the sounds of spring. Each day as I go down the driveway to get in my truck I pass by some evergreen bushes, and down inside there is a frog that croaks when I pass. I smile as I pass knowing that we have another creature who has found a home here. Every day he makes a noise when I pass to let me know he's still there.

Sadly I discovered the garden hose laying on the drive-way in front of those bushes has some water in it, and when I stepped on it that was what made the gurgling sound.

I think I'll leave the hose there awhile, I can pretend I still have a friend in the bushes.

Poinsettia

Good news for the holidays, Heidi received a Poinsettia plant at the Christmas Gala this year and placed it in the kitchen window so as to get good light. She's been taking very good care of it and makes sure it receives water every two days. Then Cari stopped by the other night and told her she could lighten up on the water a little bit as it was an artificial plant and didn't really need much water. Heidi found the price tag from Hobby Lobby on it and returned it to the window where she thinks it will be happy.

Birthday Balloons

Well, the birthday balloons you sent me are almost dead, a few weeks ago I had to cut the strings off and let them float back up to the ceiling as with the loss of helium they started to sag. Then one by one they would fail and hit the floor.

I still have one left and he is a traveler. Sunday night while watching TV in the bedroom it kept floating at mid level of the room and move over the bed than on to the TV screen, then we would knock it out of the way. (something to do with warm air currents and static from the screen) Finally got mad and told it was "bad" and knocked it back in the corner behind the shirt rack.

After the show was over I noticed it was missing from the bedroom, then found him in the foyer sitting on my jacket

Well tonight he found his way into my office and was stuck to the front vent of a computer I told him he couldn't block the fan and pushed it off. Now he's sulking under the desk and waiting for me to go to bed. Soon he'll be roaming through the house. I just hope he doesn't leave a mess in the kitchen I hate cleaning dishes.
