Took a tour of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead located on the Nevada-Arizona border. Built during the Depression it was dedicated by President Rossevelt on September 30, 1935. Security is still tight at the dam, semi trucks are no longer allowed to cross over and must detour through Laughlin, NV. Only one other time was security like this, in 1941 when their were four machine gun bunkers, two on each side of the dam.
All of the monuments were done by sculptor Oskar Hansen.
